September 2 – Hampton Inn
This will be our last time staying at a Hampton Inn. This hotel Hampton Inn – Logan Airport is beyond pathetic. There has been one problem after another since we arrived yesterday.
It started at the check-in desk. I asked where I could park
our car while we signed in. She told me that I could park in either parking
lot. These lots were gated, and I couldn’t enter either lot. I was able to find a spot in a No Parking zone, A minor complaint
but it was a harbinger of things to come.
When I returned the rental car to the airport, I was told to go to specific
gate and the shuttle bus would pick me up. What she didn’t tell me and another
gentleman who was also waiting for the bus was that we needed to call the front
desk and ask for the shuttle. Because it runs every 30 minutes we assumed it was automatic. We were stuck
at the airport for over an hour.
The hotel was supposed to have a restaurant. What we got was
a bar that serves snacks and quick bar food.
The hot tub was broken.
The breakfast room was extremely crowded and belief or not, they didn’t have knifes to butter your toast. When I complained to the lady in
charge, she got rather short with me. What an ass!
When we returned from our trip to downtown Boston. I called
for the shuttle and was told it was only a twenty minute wait. About forty minutes later an apologetic
driver arrived.
The final straw was the room setup. In order to save on
doors, they’ve installed a heavy single sliding door that either closes the
closet or the bathroom depending on which way you push it. Tonight, Marg was stuck
in the bathroom when the sliding door went off the track and couldn’t be moved.
It took a good ten minutes of heavy lifting to get the door back on the track
and get Marg out. If it happened to someone who staying by themselves, it would
have been a dangerous disaster. It took the maintenance staff over fifteen minutes
to respond to our request for assistance. When he got here, we had already fixed
the door and when he left, he seemed pissed that we had asked him do his
job.
